SEO costs in Northern Ireland: what should you pay for?

Compare the work included before comparing a monthly price. A useful SEO quote should explain the starting problems, the pages and services it will focus on, and how progress will be reviewed.

The useful starting points

  • Separate website build costs, routine SEO checks and ongoing SEO work.
  • Ask which pages and customer searches the work will focus on.
  • Review relevant visibility and clicks alongside actual enquiries, not a ranking promise.

Why do SEO quotes vary?

A site with an indexing problem needs different work from a well-built site with unclear service pages. A business covering one local area also has different priorities from one offering several services across Northern Ireland.

The scope may involve technical fixes, rewriting service information, improving internal links, supporting accurate local business information or creating useful guides. Access to the existing platform matters too: a straightforward edit on one website can require a larger change on another.

Ask the provider to explain the starting point and the first priorities. A monthly fee without a description of the work makes it difficult to judge whether two quotes cover the same service.

What are JT’s published SEO-related prices?

Our website packages combine ongoing website support with different levels of SEO. They are not a price list for every standalone SEO project.

  • Silver: £249/month. Includes website support, hosting, domain, backups, updates and SEO setup with routine checks.
  • Gold: £359/month. Adds ongoing local SEO, SEO content improvements, a blog, news or case-study section and automated customer review requests.
  • Platinum: £599/month. Adds expanded SEO and keyword targeting, website conversion improvements, a monthly newsletter, customer resources and a branded Google review display.

A new website has a separate one-off build fee based on its pages and features. SEO work on an existing website is scoped and quoted separately. Read the full package inclusions and ask us to confirm the exact work, terms and any additional provider costs for your project.

If you are comparing the full website budget, our Northern Ireland website cost guide explains how to separate the build from ongoing support.

What should an ongoing SEO plan cover?

Pages customers can reach and understand

Important pages need to be crawlable, have a clear purpose and explain the service accurately. Work may include fixing broken links, reviewing page titles, checking mobile layouts and improving the route from a service page to an enquiry.

Content that answers real buying questions

A useful article can explain price factors, preparation, service options or how a process works. It should lead naturally to the relevant service. A long list of posts is less useful if none helps a potential customer decide whether you can help.

Local information that reflects the business

Your actual services, coverage, photographs and project examples help visitors understand the offer. Location content should have a reason to exist. An Antrim project or a Ballymena service example provides context; copying the same page for every town does not add that evidence.

Our SEO services page explains how we connect technical work, service content and local search information.

What should you see in an SEO report?

Start with the work completed and why it was prioritised. Then look at the available search evidence: which relevant queries and pages received impressions and clicks, and whether the period is comparable with the previous one.

Keep the commercial question separate: did the business receive suitable enquiries? A search click, a click on a phone link and a confirmed conversation are different events. Reporting should make those distinctions clear and explain any measurement gaps.

If measurement tools are not connected, that is something to agree explicitly. A website change alone does not create a reliable record of calls, form submissions or paying customers.

Five questions to ask before accepting a quote

  1. Which services, pages and genuine coverage areas will the work focus on?
  2. What technical and content work is included, and who makes the changes?
  3. How will new content be checked for accuracy before publication?
  4. Which reports will I receive, and what can they actually measure?
  5. What are the ongoing terms, extra charges and arrangements if I stop?

Ask for a clear explanation of the first phase. If your business is difficult to find at all, start with our guide to not appearing on Google before assuming that more blog posts are the only answer.

How long should you budget for SEO?

There is no reliable universal date for a particular ranking or number of enquiries. Discovery, competition, the starting site and the changes all affect what follows. Agree review points and a sequence of useful work rather than purchasing a promised position.

Early fixes can be checked directly: a broken link is repaired, a page answers a question more clearly, or an enquiry route works on mobile. Search visibility and commercial results need observation over time. That distinction helps you assess the work without confusing a completed task with a guaranteed outcome.
